PHILANTHROPY
As an organization we work to together to raise money and awareness each year for our national philanthropies. Our philanthropies include Prevent Child Abuse America, Jewish Women International, and Women to Women International.
Each semester our Vice President of Philanthropy along with the Philanthropy Assistant work together to plan service days for our members. These events include beach/park clean ups, work at the Lowcountry Foodbank, Early Childhood Development Peace Day, and much more.
PREVENT CHILD ABUSE AMERICA
Sigma Delta Tau has been empowering families through Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) for over a quarter of a century. Nationally, over $250,000 was donated to PCAAin 2013-2014 to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation's children, brining our total contributions to over $1.7 million! Each spring, our chapter hosts "Battle of the Torch" to raise money and awareness for PCAA
JEWISH WOMEN INTERNATIONAL
Sigma Delta Tau supports the mission of Jewish Women International to make certain that all girls and women have the fundamental right to live in a safe home, thrive in healthy relationships and realize the full potential of their personal strength. Our chapter raises money for JWI by pairing up with OPI Nail Polish on a national level. OPI makes a nail polish for us in a shade of purple and we sell the bottles annually.
